Christians from different denominations in the UK went out and spent the weekend in worship and celebration during UK’s largest Christian music event.
The Big Church Day Out (BCDO) in West Sussex on May 26-27, 2018 attracted many guests as the world’s top Christian artist were invited to showcase their talents.
In its tenth year, BCDO held performances in five venues. The star-studded affair was led by artists such as Matt Redman, Kari Jobe, Hillsng London, and Britt Nicole who treated the crowd with their awesome acts.
Fifty eight year old, Jill Williams described Big Church Day Out as “a joyous celebration of the power, grace and goodness of God – bathed in sunshine.”
Warnings of possible thunderstorms didn’t sway the Christians from attending the event. They were excited to enjoy a series of Christian rock, gospel and Christian rap, and contemporary worship music.
One of the guests was John Castle, 32, who camped overnight at the festival. He said the rain came in very late so people were still able to enjoy the performances.
“One of my highlights has been the Stavanger Gospel Company’s (from Norway) late light worship in the Kingdom Come tent; it was peaceful and reflective,” he shared.
Another guest, 58-year-old Jill Williams described Big Church Day Out as “a joyous celebration of the power, grace and goodness of God – bathed in sunshine.”
In addition to the music, organizers included other attractions to the festival such as a Ferris wheel, food court, inflatable bubble football and a Mission Aviation Fellowship flight simulator.
Big Church Day Out was organized for the whole family. A morning worship was held specifically for the children and craft and other family-oriented activities were available so everyone could enjoy the festival.
“There was a great time of prayer and reflection towards the end of the main event with an opportunity for people to give their lives to Jesus,” said Castle.
